What it come s down to is this, If I get compromised by using your app from one of the ads it gets from a third party who do you think I'm going to blame? Even if it is not your fault, your app was what allowed the exploit to propagate to my system, since you have no say in what the ad servers are sending through your app. I understand wanting to monetize you work, but via ads you have no control over? Really? Don't make a paid version? Not my problem. Any app I have paid for better not have any ads in it.
If you app is useful and I wish to keep using it, I'll pay for it. I personally do not use free (ad supported) apps as a general rule because of the problem of wanting to support the dev for good work and not wanting ads. Now I should have clarified that I was speaking primarily in regards to browsers.
